Day 01: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport – Aritar

Meet and greet with our representative on arrival at NJP Railway Station/ Bagdogra Airport. On arrival pick up and transfer to Aritar (103 km / 4 hrs). Located in east Sikkim, Aritar is famous for its history and natural beauty. A breathtaking view of Himalayan Range's only adds to the many natural riches that Aritar is blessed with. Lush green forests, sweeping hills with paddy fields and placid lakes hidden inside deep forests make it a perfect destination for those in search of nature trails and a serene holiday. On arrival check in to your homestay. Overnight stay at Aritar.

 

Day 02: Aritar - Rolep

Morning visit to Aritar Monastery, one of the oldest in Sikkim and belongs to the Karma Kagyu lineage order of Tibetan Buddhism. Visit Mankhim viewpoint which offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains including Kanchanjangha range. In Mankhim a temple is dedicated to the ethnic Rai community.  Further drive to Rangli, literally the gateway to Silk Route; acquire your East Sikkim permit and drive to Rolep. Rolep a new addition to Old Silk Route itinerary, is a small village in East Sikkim far away from the chaos of regular tourists. This small village is pinned on the heavily forested slope of Himalaya and one of the best places to soak yourself in nature. Overnight stay at Rolep.

 

Day 03: RolepZuluk

Morning visit to Buddha Waterfall and Hanging bridge in Rolep. Later transfer to Zuluk via Keukhola Falls and Padamchen. On arrival check-in to your homestay & rest of the day is at leisure. Perched on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in East Sikkim, Zuluk is a hamlet close to The Indo China border.  Due to its locational advantage, Zuluk marked itself as an important part of the old silk route, the famous trading route between India and Tibet. Overnight stay at Zuluk.

 

Day 04: Zuluk

Early morning drive to Thambi ViewPoint, at an elevation of 11,200 feet it gives an amazing view at dawn. The whole eastern Himalaya can be seen from this spot including the Kanchenjunga range. To reach Thambi one needs to cover the entire stretch of famous ZigZag road. Back to Zuluk and you can spend the rest of your day by having a stroll around Zuluk in search of exquisite feathered beauties found in the area or just to explore the essence of old history whispering in the air of Zuluk. While in Zuluk, you should definitely spend time here and listen to these folklores by the locals. Overnight stay at Zuluk.

 

Day 05: Zuluk - Gnathang

After spending two memorable days in Zuluk its time to move ahead to an even higher elevation. You have to again cross the amazing Zigzag road, and after passing the Thambi viewpoint you will reach Lungthu. The entire area falls under Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary and the wildlife population is also very rich as the area is undisturbed. If you are lucky can encounter mammals like Bharal, Musk Deer, Yellow Throated Marten, or with birds like Satyr Tragopan and Blood Pheasant. From here the road leads to Tukla, a high altitude meadow. This entire high altitude Himalayan terrain is full of surprises and natural beauties are hidden in every bend you cross. Further drive to Gnathang. Located at an altitude of 13,500 feet, once this lush valley was the home to traditional yak herders who came from Tibet. Small streams crisscross the valley and your soul will wander to explore this vast plain of nothingness. Nathang Valley appears in different colors at different times of the year. Overnight stay in Home Stay at Gnathang Valley.

 

Day 06: GnathangKupup Lake - Gangtok

Start your day with a positive vibe as you are going to explore the remaining part of your adventurous journey. Visit Old Baba Mandir, a memorial erected in the memory of Captain “Baba” Harbhajan Singh, an Indian army soldier. The place is associated with mystic stories in which army personnel strongly believe that his soul is protecting them from any danger. Further drive to Kupup Lake, a serene lake located at an altitude of 13000 ft. This lake is also called Hathi (Elephant) Lake due to its elephant-like shape. The road further leads to the famous Tsomgo lake, one of the most popular tourist destinations covered by Gangtok. The lake is associated with many myths and legends and is revered by the Sikkimese as sacred.  From here you will be transferred to Gangtok, the capital town of Sikkim. Overnight stay at Gangtok.   

 

Day 07: Gangtok – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/ Bagdogra Airport

After having an adventurous journey, its time to say goodbye to Sikkim and you will be transferred to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.
