Purulia is the western most district of West Bengal. The landscape is dominated by hills, rocky out crops, forest, streams, rivers and reservoirs.

Ajodhya Pahar the hiils with abundance natural beauty is the land of the ancient tribes like Santals, Munda, Sabar, Majhi and many more.

These tribes are practicing their deep-rooted culture and vibrant art form for generations.

Ajodhya pahar is the one of the best places for adventure sports in West Bengal. These hills host a number of Rock climbing, Camping, Trekking, Nature Study, Map Reading courses and camps every year. Mathaburu, Goja Buru, Pakhi Pahar, Sirkabad, Morguma, Baranti are best places for adventure activities.

Ajodhya Pahar houses a rich variety of wildlife and birds.

Purulia is famous for its age-old mask dance, namely Chau dance, which has been appreciated globally.  Chau mask is a must collect handicraft item, made by the artists of Charida village.
